CALA (Caribbean and Latin America) Regional Systems Engineer
Position Description:
The System Engineer is responsible for all technical solutions, and competitive aspects for pre and post sales. System Engineer's must be both sales focused and technically astute. The System Engineer will work, in conjunction with Sales, Marketing, Product Managers, and Engineers to be the technical bridge between our Sales Representatives and System Engineers for their pre and post sales customers. The System Engineer will take ownership of driving customer satisfaction by proactively managing and delivering technical information to our customers and field organization both onsite, online (email), and via telephone.
Requirements:
Excellent interpersonal, communication, persuasion, presentation and writing skills
Experience scoping, managing and executing customer evaluations
Hands on experience implementing, troubleshooting and supporting
Proficient with TCP/IP networking, LANs and Network infrastructure
Strong knowledge of OSPF, ISIS, BGP, and EIGRP
Strong knowledge of MPLS/2547
Strong knowledge of Linux and MySQL
Outstanding problem solving skills, including the ability to meet a business requirement with a technical solution
Excellent customer skills and able to work in very stressful customer situations
Superior solution scoping abilities, using our existing solution and influencing new product development
Experience with training materials and support documentation development is preferred
Must be willing to work in a fast paced environment with multiple roles
Must be willing to travel extensively and sometimes on short notice
Must have 5+ years industry experience in Professional Services, engineering, or systems engineering plus network administration
Knowledge of Linux/UNIX system administration
Other requirements: Ability to occasionally carry heavy boxes and work on equipment in confined areas (computer rooms)
We also require:
Certifications - CCNA, or higher (such as CCIE)
The ability to multi-task and prioritize
Strong knowledge of XML/XSLT, and scripting in Perl, Python, or JavaScript
Ability to travel up to 60% of the time
We prefer:
BS/BA engineering or science degree
ISP networking experience
Past experience with network appliance technical support is a plus
