PACKET DESIGN EXPANDS IN ASIAN MARKET,
ADDS NEW RESELLERS IN CHINA AND KOREA

Lawrence Yee Joins Company as Sales Director for Asia-Pacific Region

SANTA CLARA, Calif., Dec. 15, 2008 –Packet Design, the pioneer in route analytics for managing large IP networks, has expanded its presence in the Asian networking market with the addition of three new resellers, ECCom Network System Co., Ltd., and Shenzhen Sunlong Communication Co., Ltd., both in China; and NNSP Co., Ltd., in South Korea.

The company has also named Lawrence Yee as its director of sales for the Asia-Pacific region. Based in Packet Design's new Singapore office, Yee reports to Steve Ackley, vice president of worldwide sales.

The three Asian resellers will market Packet Design's Route Explorer and Traffic Explorer families of network management solutions to service providers and enterprises in their respective regions. Route Explorer creates an end-to-end map of the layer 3 routing topology, showing routing changes as they occur. Traffic Explorer layers traffic-flow data onto this map, providing the first network-wide, "topology-aware" view of network traffic. The products help network engineers quickly identify and resolve problems, maintain large IP networks more effectively, and do more accurate network-change planning.

"Asia is the fastest-growing market for route analytics," Ackley said. "Our sales have grown 60 percent there since last year, and we expect even stronger growth in 2009. Working with the right resellers is critical to our success with key end users in our target markets: service providers, large enterprises, government agencies and educational institutions. EECom, Sunlong and NNSP all have solid technical expertise and extensive relationships with key network engineers at major customers in their regions, and will provide invaluable 'feet on the street' for us there."

Ackley said that the rapid growth in the Asian market also prompted the establishment of a direct Packet Design presence, leading to the opening of the Singapore office and the hiring of Lawrence Yee to manage all resellers in the region.

Yee, who joined Packet Design in October, is responsible for sales in the Asia-Pacific nations of China, Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan and Thailand. His more than 18 years of experience in the IT industry include positions as Southeast Asia regional director for Packeteer and Netscout Systems. He also spent six years at Hewlett Packard, in charge of revenue for the company's networking services division.
Packet Design products are also sold in Asia by GuoMai Technologies and Super Instruments (China), Ring Line Corporation (Taiwan), Alunan Persada (Malaysia), Expernet and Packet Leader (South Korea), Toyo Corporation (Japan) and DMX Technologies (Singapore).
