Packet Design Signs OEM Agreement with Juniper Networks

SANTA CLARA, Calif., Oct. 29, 2009 –  Packet Design today announced that it has signed an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) agreement with Juniper Networks. Juniper will integrate Packet Design's route analytics products into the new Juniper Networks Junos® Space network application platform. The new Route Analyzer product will provide management visibility that helps network engineers with troubleshooting, monitoring and planning for large IP/MPLS networks.

Mike Harding, Juniper’s vice president and general manager of Junos Space Business, said, "As our customers see their IP/MPLS core and edge networks grow larger and more complex, they need better visibility into dynamic network behavior.  Traditional device-oriented management tools don't let them see how customer services traverse their networks, which severely limits their ability to isolate and troubleshoot problems.  Packet Design's powerful route analytics technology takes the guesswork out of this process, significantly speeding problem resolution and helping to ensure service availability and performance.  It also lets users analyze the impact of potential failures, accurately model network changes before implementing them, and plan for network growth."

Jeff Raice, Packet Design's executive vice president of marketing and business development, said, "We are delighted that one of the industry's largest and most forward-thinking network infrastructure vendors will be bringing our route analytics technology to its substantial customer base.  This OEM agreement enables Juniper's direct sales and distribution partners, people who are deeply familiar with routing technology and expert at selling solutions to companies with complex IP networks, to demonstrate the value of our products.  In addition, we look forward to leveraging Juniper Networks Junos Space network application network platform, which will allow us to integrate with other solutions and deliver even more value to organizations adopting the platform."
